The reader should not be put off by the pompous Latin titles so popular in jurisprudence, especially among shyster lawyers with their Lanitorum. This is not a book about legal science, nor does it stem from legal scholarship itself, but rather it recounts my personal experiences with it – before, during, and after my two divorces, in which, of course, my children were and still are involved.
A toxic ex-wife made everything even worse for me.
The reader may find similarities with their own experiences within the family courts, with the various experts they appoint, and with the public authorities that should (and that conditional “should” is indeed intentional) deal with the “family” (and yes, the quotation marks are a must) and the “welfare of the children” (likewise).
Hope dies last: Perhaps somewhere in Germany or Austria (the two countries to which my experiences relate) there are judges, experts, lawyers, and public authorities who swim against the “tide” I describe in this book. I do not know.
Unfortunately, there are probably not many, as I have not met them personally. And even if they do exist, they are certainly not enough to have a lasting impact on or even change the famous “conventional jurisprudence.”
Or perhaps I was just unlucky.
